When photographer Kalyn Mann of Mann & Wife: Visual Storytellers reached out to Something White co-owners Karin and Rebecca about participating in a best friends maternity shoot, these best friends and shop owners at first were a little skeptical. They're more comfortable behind the scenes at photo shoots than front and center. However, they remembered what a blast it had been to put together their "Happy Birthday Something White" 5-year birthday shoot last year with photographer Lane Baldwin, so they decided to go for it. Plus, Karin and Rebecca are notorious for always being pregnant at the same time!
Once it was decided that they would participate, then it was just a matter of finding a time. With Karin's due date quickly approaching, they battled bad weather, reschedulings, and finally decided they would just have to shoot in the rain, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The rain-dampened lighting produced some gorgeous, moody photos, and the whole shoot came together perfectly. It's hard to feel pretty while pregnant, but these photos prove what a beautiful time it can be, especially when you can share it with your best friend.
